Prices shown are only applicable to purchases made via the Bat and Bottle website and may differ to those shown in printed material.

Delivery is restricted to UK nationwide.

An order relates to one single delivery. If you would like to send a gift to more than one address, please enter each gift as a separate order, alternatively, if the gifts are all the same, enter one single order and email us with the name and address list of the other recipients then contact us to arrange payment.

Delivery is free for any order over £150, different size parcels and areas of the Highlands and Islands may carry a surcharge.

All other delivery options and charges including timed deliveries are listed in detail below; arrangements may need to be made separately with Bat and Bottle and the additional cost will be charged separately to your order.

Collections can be made from our warehouse in Oakham (address and opening hours listed below)

Breakages, Non-Delivery and Short Deliveries

Any damaged bottles or missing cases must be reported to us by email or phone as early as possible and within 3 working days of the expected delivery date. Failure to inform us within this time could lead to the items no longer being covered by insurance and no recompense being available.

Please be certain to check the number of parcels you are signing for. We will not replace wines that have been signed for but not received. Any missing cases of wine will be chased up within the couriers system and, provided we have been informed within the time limits specified, and the case(s) is untraceable, we will send replacements as fast as possible.

Delivery Date From Order

All deliveries are sent using a next day courier service. However, we cannot absolutely guarantee next day deliveries and should there be a delay of more than 3 days, we will contact you and advise you of when it will be due.

Safe Place or Alternative Delivery Address

If you are uncertain as to whether or not someone will be at home all day, there is a ‘special instruction’ facility in which you can authorise a safe place or nearby house numbers as alternative addresses where your wine can be left if no-one is in. Bat and Bottle cannot be held responsible if the wine goes missing after the courier has delivered it.

Prices for all orders under £150:
12 bottle+ order: £5.50
1 – 11 bottles order: £8.50

Highland & Island Surcharges

If you live in the Highlands or Islands you are most fortunate, however please call and we will confirm whether or not there is a surcharge for us to deliver to you and arrange the charge for this separately.

Timed Delivery Charges

Timed deliveries can be arranged. They carry the following surcharge in addition to the standard delivery charge:
Before 10am (X): +£16.00
Before 12noon (M): +£10.00
Saturday before 12noon (S): +£25.00


We are located at the old Ashwell Prison! Now it is Oakham Enterprise Park just outside Oakham on the Ashwell Road, LE15 7TU (for some satnavs use co-ordinates: 52.691982,-0.716633 ).
Opening hours are every third Saturday of the month  9.30am - 5pm
If you want to visit at any other time, you are more than welcome; please, do ring before setting off as on occasion no-one is available to man the warehouse during weekdays. We are usually here between 9.30am and 4pm Monday to Friday. Also check the Diary on this website.

Where you submit feedback for publication on our website, we may publish and otherwise use this in our marketing.

We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:

  • We may use the information to improve our products and services.

Details of your orders (not your payment details) will be kept on your record within the website and will be available to you only. This will be stored on our secure password and firewall-protected servers, encrypted using SSL technology (please see Brightpearl's and Magento's privacy policies).

You are responsible for keeping your password and user details confidential. We will only ever ask you for your password when you log in to our website.

We have made every effort to ensure that Bat and Bottle provides a fully secure link for credit card payments (please see Sagepay's privacy policy). In addition, the details of your credit card are not held on record anywhere on the internet.

Please be aware that data transmission over the internet is inherently insecure and we cannot guarantee the security of any data sent via the internet.

Our website may contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over that other website. Returns & Replacements

We will refund any bottles returned to us in perfect condition, this includes labels and capsules. This will not affect your statutory rights.
Collections will be charged at £14 and must be arranged either by phone or by email directly with us.

There is no minimum order – you may buy any number of bottles that you so choose.

Find The Wine You Want

You can either find the wine you want by using our 'quick search' facility or by the features of a wine in one of the 'Wine Lists', or through a Region or Producer's information page.
You can view a full description of a wine you are interested in by pressing the 'More Details' button.

Add a Wine to Your Basket

Once you have found a wine you would like to buy, press the 'Add to Basket' button.
Up until that point, the top right hand area of the screen will read “Your basket is empty”. As soon as a wine is added to your basket this will change to 'View Basket (1 item)', your basket can be viewed at any time.
You can continue to browse the 'Wine List' or search for other wines and add them to your basket by pressing the appropriate 'Add to Basket' button.

View Basket

The quantity of any product can be altered in 'View Basket'.
After adjusting either the quantity or ticking the delete box, use the 'Update Basket' button to amend your shopping.

New Customers / Logging In

If this is your first order from this website you should register and provide:
your first name
your last name
company (optional)
email address
telephone number
a password private to you

If you have ordered from us before, you need to log in to order again; simply use the 'Log In' button at the top of the page and enter your email address and password you provided when you first ordered.

If you have forgotten your password, there is a facility for it to be emailed to you at the email address you registered with.
This is available via 'Forgot Your Password' link on the 'Log In' page.
No administrator can see your password, it is kept encrypted within your account.

Place Your Order on the Website

Once you have logged in, complete your order by following the four step order process.

step 1- Basket details

If you have a promotional code you should enter it here and press the 'Update Basket' button.

step 2 – Addresses

You can copy the Billing address to the Shipping address by ticking the appropriate box.
If you are a returning customer you can re-use addresses you have saved in earlier orders by selecting them from the dropdown list of addresses.
Tick the appropriate box whether to use the address for Billing or Shipping (you can tick both).
Press the 'Use' button to apply the address you have chosen. The address information will then be displayed on the screen.

step 3 – Payment

You can pay for your order by credit card - we accept:

Visa and Mastercard (debit and credit), Maestro , Electron and Solo cards via SagePay.
Please note that you must provide the full address to which the card has been issued, exactly as it appears on your statement.
All credit and charge card transactions are subject to authorisation.
If the issuer of your payment card refuses to authorise payment to us, we will not be liable for non-delivery.

Direct Debits through GoCardless
Online payments into our bank account.
Give us your card details over the phone – please provide a contact phone number
Cheques (payable to Bat and Bottle).
Payment on collection.

Please enter your payment details in the appropriate places on the screen.
The details of the products you have ordered appear on this screen, our standard shipping charges are applied based on the size of the order and the address you have indicated we should deliver the order to.

step 4 – Confirm Order

At this stage you are unable to adjust your order without returning to an earlier stage (by pressing one of the links in the steps on the screen).
A summary of your order, address information and payment method is displayed. If this is correct, you should press the 'Finish' button to place your order.

Step 5 – Thankyou Message

If you see this screen you have completed your order.
You will receive a confirmation email at the email address you provided.
You can also print this screen for your reference. 




Viewing Orders

Details of your order (not your payment details) will be kept on your record within the website and will be available to you and Bat and Bottle only.
