Zeni Roberto Teroldego di Rotaliano Lealbere
Teroldego di Rotaliano DOC
Lealbere is a vineyard dedicated to Teroldego on the Campo Rotaliano. The combination of mixed alluvial soils over deep gravel on a granite bedrock, and high summer daytime temperatures with cool nights is unique and Teroldego could not be more at home than it is here. Teroldego di Rotaliano has had a DOC since 1971, the wines are highly prized in Italy (over 70% of Zeni’s sales are in Italy) and there is not that much for overseas markets.
The vines are planted on alluvial soils over gravel on the former riverbed of the Noce, the bedrock is granite, at a density of 3300 plants per hectare, with two fruit canes per vine. 10% of the wine is aged in oak casks. Production hovers at around ten thousand bottles, the vast majority is sold in Italy, it is an insider wine which has little need of points and prizes.Wonderful with a fillet of beef. Open, spiced damson and sloe, lovely open, ripe tannins, full and warming wine. 13.5%
