We were introduced to these oils by a restaurateur in Hockley Heath many years ago and, whilst we have yet to visit Calabria, this gentleman came from the Savuto Valley and understood the vagaries.
We pop over to chat with Filippo on his stall at Vinitaly most years and have found the quality constant and the vintage variations to be re-assuring.
This is a sound family owned business that has gradually modernised; they now make wine and a line of food products including pasta and pasta sauces.
There is also an award winning premium olive oil, we just love this straightforward extra virgin olive oil though, it is as good as any Olio Extra Vergine di Oliva we have found for this price.
