Lapo Berti holds an Italian passport and has Australian residency. For the last seventeen years he has worked through Italy, Australia, Burgundy, California and New Zealand. He was born in Tuscany and started his career at Selvapiana before moving to Piemonte where he worked as the assistant winemaker for Enzo Boglietti and later for Roberto Voerzio. After the Langhe (Piemonte) he gained experience with Nicolas Potel and then Michel Picard in Burgundy between seasons working in too many places to mention in Australia though he considers the most influential stint being his time working with Stephen Pannell in Mclaren Vale. So many experiences and this is the first wine which bears his name and his ambition to make a Nebbiolo in the simplest way possible that is true to the characteristics of the grape, the vineyard and the vintage.
