  2. Ascheri. Montalupa Viognier 2013

Matteo rates this as his best vintage yet, it has a lovely rich mouthfeel, citrus and exotically tropical fruit are held around a mineral core, it is an exceptional wine.

  3. Ascheri. Barolo 'Pisapola' 2010

A fine vintage with remarkably open and uncomplicated pure fruit.   Floral and fresh, forward (these are the characteristics of the vintage) with dried lavender and rosemary.  A beautiful Barolo that is eminently drinkable and will develop over many years.

  4. Ascheri. Nebbiolo d'Alba 'San Giacomo' 2014

A fresh vintage which was un-tampered with, the tannins were mature and allow violet and tar to emerge through berry and strawberry.  A lithe and handsome example of nebbiolo, ready to drink and It will develop over the next few years (to 2017).

  6. Ascheri. Pelaverga di Verduno 'do ut des' 2010

Cherry, caramel, a dusting of sweet tannins, popcorn and strawberry to blueberry. A very different style to any Pelaverga that I have tasted.

  7. Ascheri. Montalupa Syrah 2007

Generous fruit, big, open and soft and were it not for a vein of Piemontese restraint this could be mistaken for a top new world syrah (and I mean that as a compliment)

A slight and delicate vintage with poised floral fruit, a touch of salted butter, herb and lime, very delicate and very lovely.

  9. Broccatelli Galli. Montefalco Rosso 2013

A wine that is comfortable in itself and makes no effort to masquerade the dark, earthy patina of Sagrantino freshened with the black cherry and damson of Sangiovese.

A wine with crystalline purity, grapefruit, greengage and herb flavours.  A great little aperitivo.
