  1. Brezza. Barolo 'Cannubi' 2012

    Brezza Barolo Cannubi 2012
    Barolo DOCG

Enticing berry, violet and rose aromas, full supple fruit, fine ripe tannins beautifully laced through the wine, almost painfully fine.  Remarkable purity, undoubtedly a forward vintage which I suspect has excellent potential to develop over the next fifteen years.

  2. Bionda. Valpolicella Classico Superiore 'Casal Vegri' 2012

A serious release of this single vineyard wine, firm mature tannin, deep and elegant fruit.  A wine which reflects the vendemmnia and altitude of this Merano site and attitude of the Castellani men.

  3. Ferdinando Principiano. Nebbiolo 'Coste' 2012

Sapid, loose, easy sloe and raspberry fruit, laced with violet and edging toward white chocolate on the finish.  Not a big wine, just beautifully balanced and dangerously enjoyable.

  4. Colombera & Garella. Bramaterra 'Cascina Cottignano' 2013

Damson, bramble and strawberry with delicate orange skin and ripe herb.  The fruit is deliciously understated, ripe and fresh as a mountain stream with mineral, lime and cherry flavours.

  5. Costanzo. Mofete Rosso 2012

Fresh and pure red berry fruit, delicate spice and mineral grip with fine, ripe tannins. The finish is extraordinarily long.

  6. Monte dei Roari. 'Palustrel' 2012

Mint and raspberry aromas, black berry and bramble fruit, ripe and round, rich with hints of after eight and kirsch, full gratuitous flavours, great fun.

  7. Ferdinando Principiano. Freisa 'Chila' 2012

A little tannin, fresh raspberry fruit, a touch rustic but in a very good way.

  8. Broilo. Schioppettino 2012

Raspberry and black pepper, earthy mushroom and grilled peppers, mineral and complex.  Seriously great full-bodied red that is fabulous now and will continue to develop to 2018-2020.

  9. Sampietrana. Masseria del Gelso Squinzano Riserva 2013

A supple and welcoming wine, perhaps too easy to enjoy with its deep cassis and currant fruit, lifted with roasted pepper and mocha flavours.

  10. Brezza. Barolo 2012

    Brezza Barolo 2012
    Barolo DOCG

Quite deep core of garnet but very pale on the edge, no evidence of amber of bricky colours.
Extraordinary nose, huge and complex, a bit of an assault really: dark chocolate, cedar, rose petals the full Barolo experience in fact.
