Mauro Franchino Gattinara
Taken from a three hectare vineyard that was planted in 1967. The harvest is manual and the grape selection rigorous; fermentation is in concrete tanks for around two weeks, the ageing period depends on the vintage, usually the wine remains in botti for four years.
Grippy tannin, wonderfully deep fruit with superb minerality, salt and iron, leather, cedar, spice and dried flowers. An unmissable wine from another time. 13.5%
