An old variety, which was listed by Marzotto in the 1923 ‘Ampelografia del Friuli’. It is almost certainly named after the town of Cordenons near Pordenone.
It is a vigorous vine, medium to late harvesting, with small, loose bunches. The fruit has thin skins. Resistance to powdery mildew is good, but it is very susceptible to downy mildew. The wines have good colour and deep flavour, tannin and acidity are ideal for medium-bodied red wines.
