Ferdinando Principiano Nebbiolo Le Coste
Langhe Nebbiolo DOC
Most of the Nebbiolo is from the ‘Coste’ vineyard in Monforte d’Alba, the vines are forty years old and the exposure is southeast to southwest (altitude 350m). A small percentage of the grapes are taken from Boscareto. Fermentation is spontaneous (no inoculated yeasts are used) and lasts for around three weeks. Ageing is in stainless steel tanks for ten months and around 10,000 bottles are produced.
Sapid, loose, easy sloe and raspberry fruit, laced with violet and edging toward white chocolate on the finish. Not a big wine, just beautifully balanced and dangerously enjoyable. 13.5%
